Moori allows audience members to participate actively in a performance. By incorporating a smart phone’s dynamic interface and SMS, users share their thoughts to a proposed question by a performer. Through text inputs, buttons, and multi-touch pads, user-data is processed to generate algorithmic audio and visuals—as well as manipulate the performer’s work. The result is a collaboration between performer and audience, a real-time audio-visual composition and a dramatic narrative.
Moori is an ongoing development project. Moori is currently exhibited at NamJunePaik (NJP) Art Center in Korea as an interactive installation, and is going to be presented at ACM Creativty & Cognition 2011. Moori was origianlly created as a thesis project for MFA Design & Techology at Parsons, the New School for Design.
